La Magnanerie is a welcoming two bedroomed converted silk worm factory ideal for two couples or a family situated half way between Lablachรจre and Joyeuse..
The property is at first floor level, entering by a tiled staircase with a baby gate onto the large wooden balcony/loggia set out with table and chairs for the superb views where you can fully enjoy the mild Spring and Summer nights and the wonderful colours of Autumn. The living area is open plan and comfortable with two sofas with a separate area which houses the fully-fitted custom built kitchen with 5-burner, two oven cooker and washing up machine and a dining area. Open stairs lead upstairs to two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with two single beds. There is space in the double bedroom for a baby bed or cot which we can provide, subject to prior notice and availability. Similarly, a baby's highchair can also be made available for you. The bathroom contains a toilet, sink and large shower. There is a baby gate at the top of the stairs. Please note there is limited headroom in the bedrooms and bathroom on the upper floor. Mind your head on those beams!
Wi-fi connection available. Smart television with French channels, DVD player and music centre. Parking for one vehicle only.
We also let La Petite Grange (Property number 1000462) which is an adjoining gite with two en-suite bedrooms for 4 people, so if you wish to come as a group, both properties can be let at the same time, subject to availability.
The properties share a grassy garden area with sun loungers, benches and parasol.

Summary: La Magnanerie is a comfortable property that we enjoyed. The location is excellent and it is possible to see many parts of the L'Ardeche if you are adventurous. The property is clean and well-equipped. The host Jane was welcoming and is very knowledgeable about the local area. There is a road outside that is noisiest in the mornings but we were not overly disturbed. This property does have low beams in places upstairs so probably best not recommend for tall people. Otherwise a great choice.

Summary: To keep it short: We liked it very much! The house was very cozy, had everything we needed for our one-week vacation and looked just beautiful. We slept very well and in absolute silence - which is extremely nice when living in a metropolitan area. The mountainside around is astonishingly beautiful, as well as the small villages everywhere. Also we can highly recommend nightly strolls to see the most beautiful starlight sky. Jane is the best host, she was very accomodating after our 14h ride and is just a nice person. Summary: Our whole family enjoyed our stay at the house from Jane and Alan very much. The house is very well equipped with everything we needed - we enjoyed our breakfast and dinner very much on the big balcony. It was a perfect base for our day trips in the Ardeche area. We're thinking to come back to this place once more. Thanks alot for your hospitality.

Summary: Lovely location with beautiful views and sunsets over the Ardeche and Cevennes mountains. The owners were very helpful but discreet. There are low beams upstairs but it added to the rustic charm of the gite. The local boulangerie in Lablachere center was excellent and the market at Joyeuse was amazingly large and well supported. The area exceeded our expectations and is added to the list of one of our top five places we have stayed in France over the last 25 years. The road outside is reasonably busy but the outlook from the veranda made up for that. Labeaume, Vogue, Lac de Villefort, La Garde Guerin and of course Pont D'Arc are essential visits.

Summary: A lovely little property with an amazing view from the balcony area. We loved the kitchen area. There is much to do in this vibrant area, the villages, markets, rivers and eating areas. The only issue is that the head room space in the property upstairs is small, so great if you are little people like us, but not so if you are closer to 6ft! like my son! I also would not recommend this property for young children, due to the staircase, steps and glass door. However, if you are looking for a view, a beautiful area and lovely hosts, then this is the space for you. We had an amazing time and shared the other part of the house with friends which also is great if you are a team of 8. Well worth a visit if you wish to explore the beauty of the Ardeche. Thank you for the hospitality. We loved our time here in the Ardeche.

Summary: Fantastic location for exploring the surrounding areas. Brilliant communication from the owners always respondsing very quickly to help with any enquiries. Very clean comfortable house with everything you may need for your stay. Wonderful views from the terrace overlooking vineyards. Would definately recommend.

Summary: Jane and Alan did a wonderful job renovating the place. The living area is very nicely decorated with alot of atmosphere. The kitchen is fully equipped. The beds are very comfortable and the lack of airconditioning during hot days was easy to bear, because you could open opposing windows in the evening and at night. Small tip : two mosquito nets for the small windows in the bedrooms. The small mosquito's can be really nasty in France. We had a great stay at La Magnanerie and maybe we will see each other again in the future...

Summary: My husband and I came to stay in the Ardeche in April and picked La Magnanerie as we wanted the joys of the countryside, whilst being able to easily wander into the little towns of Lablachere and Joyeuse for the markets and meals out without always having to drive everywhere. The house is lovely, cosy: a real home away from home. I love the mix of traditional French local architecture with the stone building and the wonderful job the owners have done of renovating it to include all of the modern amenities without losing the building's character. The rustic open kitchen and living space is excellent - love the beams and comfy sofas - and you can't really beat views over French countryside on three sides! The bedrooms are cosy and light, with wooden floors and low sloped ceilings. You can hear a bit of traffic noise in the master bedroom at times, but it's mainly during the day so not really an issue - the area is really quiet at night time. The large terrace that adjoins the living space was a huge selling point for us - it's a stunning place to sit and enjoy a meal or just relax, and it gets a fabulous sunset view every night over the vineyards. The owners, Alan & Jane, were really friendly and helpful, along with the huge info pack in the house - there's so much to do in this area! We can highly recommend kayaking down the Ardรจche and the market at Les Vans. All in all a fantastic holiday - can't wait to come back next year hopefully!
